Dr. Cairo Godson Ojougboh was not just a name; he was the embodiment of courage, integrity, and selflessness. A towering figure in Nigerian politics, his life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and public service.
Born on September 8th, 1959, in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria, Dr. Ojougboh’s journey began humbly, but his determination and passion propelled him to great heights. He pursued his education with fervor, earning his Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) degrees from the prestigious University of Benin in 1985.
Dr. Ojougboh’s political career was marked by a relentless pursuit of justice and accountability. From his early days as Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) to his later roles as National Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South South Nigeria, and Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, he fearlessly championed the cause of the common people. His decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not just a political move; it was a reaffirmation of his principles and values.
But Dr. Ojougboh was more than just a politician; he was a beacon of hope for the marginalized and oppressed. Through his organization, the Friends of Democracy, he worked tirelessly to promote democratic principles and empower citizens to stand up for their rights.
